Andrew Jensen
Andrew Jensen learned the art of Gyotaku fish printing in 1997. Each print is a one-of-a-kind original using natural fish, water-based oil paints and acid-free archival papers. A passion for fishing and fisheries resources, coupled with his fisheries biology background and artistic expression, inspires Andrew to create unique Gyotaku fish prints ~ bringing the natural beauty of fish to life.
Exhibit Darfur
Exhibit Darfur is a photographic journey of Darfur through the lenses of six notable artists.
Darfur is a small region of western Sudan in which Arabs and Africans have peacefully coexisted since 640 C.E. Now, however, the Sudan is divided by religion, ethnicity, tribe and economic livelihood causing civil wars and strife throughout the country. In the past 6 years, Darfur, has been in the throes of the most modern example of ethnic cleansing, slavery, and genocide in which the Janjaweed Arab militia, backed by the Sudanese government, is systematically exterminating native, ethnic Africans from the region.
This exhibit started in Denver and is traveling throughout the US to raise awareness through the arts. To find out more go to www.exhibitdarfur.com or www.darfurredding.org
Shasta College
From the beginning the Department of Art at Shasta College, created in 1948, has sought breadth, as well as integration of its art appreciation, art history and studio programs. Their class offerings have been organized to not only prepare art majors for transfer but also to assist the general education student. Many former students have developed significant careers in fine art, not only as painters and sculptors but also as designers, teachers, art historians, and gallery or museum curators and directors.
Linda Garcia
A California native, photographer Linda Garcia finds that the North State provides numerous opportunities to capture the majestic mountains, rivers and lakes surrounding this beautiful area. She is self-taught and demonstrates a successful combination of professional skills with an intuitive photographic eye.
Chuck Prudhomme
Chuck Prudhomme is an oil painter who paints landscapes primarily on location. He travels extensively looking for that unique scene which touches his soul and paints in a loose, painterly style with the intent of capturing the spirit of the place. Chuck's paintings are vibrant, colorful and very expressive, allowing the viewer to see every brush stroke.
