Exhibiting Artists:
Patricia Bamford
Patricia believes that for many of us beautiful colors, shapes, and images can speak more clearly to convey the thoughts and ideas that words cannot. She hopes that somehow the colors, shapes and images will form a bridge between the mind of the painter and that of the viewer so that the purpose of her paintings will become apparent. Just as language skills become the art of poetry and literature; to Patricia "a picture is worth a thousand words".
Phillip Friesen
Phillip fell in love with photography after seeing the first image he ever took - 46 years ago, using a home-made pinhole camera. Many years later, with the wonderful photographic and printing technologies available, he finds an irresistible love affair with the craft. Phillip's subject matter is the beautiful areas around Redding and presenting photo-realism artistically is his goal.
Jan Molinelli-Hale
Jan's true desire is to create works of art which will generate a feeling of serenity and peace to those who view them. She strives to balance light against dark, cool against warm - slowly bringing distance forward by the control of intensity of color, detail and perspective. Jan's goal this year is to paint surrounding areas and do animal portraits. No matter what the subject is, it will always be one she has a passion for.
Laurie Reynolds
TBeauty and artistic creation permeate every aspect of Laurie's life, environment, and work. The desire to create art led to pursuing art study throughout her school years. Laurie received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting/Drawing and a Master of Art in Art Education from Marywood University in Scranton, PA. For Laurie, the only joy which comes close to creating artwork is teaching others to appreciate and create art.
Mistletoe Elementary School
Art teacher Maggie Anderson feels that encouraging a young child's imagination is a privilege and an honor. Exploring various mediums, such as chalk or pastels, pave the way for a journey of curiosity. As an instructor, she rarely tells the student what to draw, but emphasizes techniques such as elements of composition or color wheel usage. They are new to the world and whether inventing, designing or organizing information through pastels or paint, everything is a personal discovery. Tissue, "gluey water," different kinds of paints, and pastels are engaging, messy mediums to be explored.
Redding School of the Arts
The Visual Arts program at Redding School of the Arts provides art instruction for all students through elective and academic art classes. Teaching staff are professional artist and credentialed art teachers who provide standards-based instruction design to encourage growth and expression while addressing principles of design and elements of art. Studio Art elective artists represented here are from the fifth through eighth grades.
