Exhibiting Artists:
Kelly Koolhoven
As a life-long resident of Shasta County, Kelly has grown up loving and being inspired by all the natural beauty surrounding us. Her passion for photography, which began as a senior project at Enterprise High School, has developed into a lifetime dedication to see beauty in all things and reveal it to the world through her eyes.
Michael Rubin
Michael developed his interest in photography at an early age and really became involved during his Air Force tour of duty in Japan & Korea from 1962 to 1965. He spent the next several decades working with view cameras, creating large-format B&W photography. During this period, Michael developed his vision as he specialized in natural landscape photography. He has begun using digital equipment and is capturing nature & wildlife in his photography, exhibiting on his website and in large-scale color prints.
Jan Scanlin
After 20 years in the field of art, Jan's passion for art glass has culminated in the unique combinations of chiseled, sandblasted and airbrushed painted glass. From simple logo duplication to elaborate airbrushed painted and hand-chipped sculptures, each piece is individually hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind. While Jan's glass fountains have been sold in over 150 galleries across the continental U.S. and Hawaii, for the past few years she has been concentrating on local venues. Jan's artwork represents what can be accomplished through community effort and vision as well as creating art for the enrichment of many.
Bill Ulch
Bill is a local illustrator and product designer who is debuting his art at this exhibit. This work includes original watercolors, digital drawings and welded-wire faces covering a wide range of subjects. He hopes those who take the time to study the pieces will find them thought-provoking and enjoyable.
Lillian Weaver
Lillian enjoys still life painting, collecting objects to arrange in an unusual composition, to visualize semi-abstract forms for additional interest and attention. She finds portrait painting of people in their native costumes to be rewarding studies.
Enterprise High School Advanced Placement
This exhibit is a glimpse of the artist as a young person who is just beginning to understand that art is key to their identity and purpose. Many have spent the last two to four years in EHS art classes and some are preparing portfolios for Advanced Placement standing at college.
Sequoia Middle School
Sequoia Middle School's Visual Art Department is pleased to present eight artists from the Spring of 2007. These advanced 8th graders completed works of art using color pencil, graphic pencil, pastels, pen & ink and Chinese brush painting. Their teacher, Millie Millhous, has been teaching visual arts for over 35 years.
