Exhibiting Artists:
Chad Hawthorne
Chad, the son of an artist, has no formal schooling in the world of art, only that which was taught to him by his mother years ago. In Chad's words: "Art requires one to pay close attention. I pay close attention to the sights and sounds of nature - the way the grass gently waves in the wind or the sound of water running over rock or the scent of pine trees in the morning. Art as a rule is an evolutionary journey of the creative soul, no matter the discipline, and nature provides that base. So it is with this respect that I paint with such attention to detail. Not to imitate life, but rather to unveil the infinite beauty that exists in the natural world around us."
Louis Heiner
Louis roots as a painter originated in his educational background and association with Frederich Heidel, David Park and Richard Diebenkorn. He continued in the traditions of abstraction derived from these painters. His recent nonobjective, lyrical abstractions are a culmination of his exploration of these traditions. They originate in an inner vision of nature; value, color, balance, motion and texture then become part of the work.
Raette Meredith
Originally from and educated in Ventura County, Raette moved to Redding to raise her family and paint. Raette works at home raising her three children (ages three, four and nine) and supplements the family income thru the nationwide sale of her art. With ceaseless energy, Raette averages one new painting per week and provides private instruction from home. Raette's inspiration comes from God's country and aiming to inspire others to reflect and take joy in the visual world.
John Morton
Make stained glass or fused glass an integral part of your house design. You can be selective and use stained glass windows as ornamental sidelights, transoms or internal room dividers. Fused glass pieces can be anything from jewelry to functional plates, bowls or platters.
Judi Richins / Dave Figoni
Judi and Dave are a team in their search for the art around us as well as inside of us. From a very young age their interest in photography was evident. For the last seven years, they have enjoyed the venture together via many backpack trips to the high Sierra and Trinity Alps, though many of their creations have originated from such varied sources as city streets to gardens at home.
Paul Rideout "Palul"
Paul Rideout (aka Palul) discovered clay thirty-six years ago. With his strong background in science, working with melded the arts and sciences together for him. Much of Palul's art involves the connection between physical and spiritual spaces. In his own words: "When I slip into that creative space where time disappears, landscapes and figures seem to emerge effortlessly I feel like I am being honored by the muse."
Shasta Photo Club
AShasta Photo Club was established in March, 2002 and presently consists of 30 members ranging in age from 19 to 80.
