Additional Art in the City Galleries:
The Redding Civic Center serves as the City's primary place of business, houses more than 350 employees and sees an estimated 1,200 persons enter the building each weekday. The building spans three stories, is approximately 100,000 square feet and hosts over 500 feet of gallery railing.
Since the inception of the Art in City Hall program, we have exhibited over 1700 pieces of artwork from more than 140 artists and many pieces have been sold. The City collects no commission on the sale of exhibited art.
The artwork on display at City Hall has been carefully selected by the Art in Public Places Committee to provide an engaging experience.
New exhibits are typically hung in January, May and September, although this schedule is subject to change for special showings. An annual Call to Artists is held each fall from August 1 thru September 30 to select the artists for the following year. The calls will be posted at www.reddingart.org

Christina Cicero
Christina has been capturing her world through the camera lens for five decades. She has been in juried shows and has served as the official' photographer for diverse groups. Christina is drawn to odd juxtapositions, angles, beauty and the never-ending, surprising revelations of people, nature and architecture.
Keith Crane
Keith has found inspiration for his watercolor paintings in what nature provides. Being a 50-year resident of Weaverville, Keith's travels in the Trinity Alps and northern California have greatly influenced his colorful landscapes. Largely self-taught, his realistic paintings have pleased galleries, patrons and collectors through the many shows where his work is displayed.
Karen Hammer
Karen started painting when she was 14, expanding her art knowledge with commercial art courses while in college. Taking a watercolor class through Shasta College, she returned to art six years ago. Karen has been self-taught ever since, working 3 - 4 hours daily perfecting her comprehension and technique.
Ron Lute
Ron has had a camera in his hands since the age of 7, however, it has really been in the last 3 years with digital photography that he has worked on honing his art. Ron sees the world as often beautiful, sometimes humorous, at times tragic, but always fascinating. He is especially drawn to interesting people, captivating structures and wonders of the natural world, as evidenced by his work.
Paul 'Palul' Rideout
Palul has been working in ceramics for almost 40 years. He is a master of a wide variety of techniques and styles. Palul has taught ceramics at Shasta College for 23 years.
Michael Thompson
Michael has always had a passion for color. The way it can convey emotion and feeling makes it a window into the artist's soul and mind. He enjoys using bright, intense colors to capture the eye and imagination of the viewer. Each new work he creates opens a piece of the soul and enriches his life, and hopefully the lives of those viewing it.
Anderson High School
Loretta Bryant is a 12-year Art and Ceramics teacher at Anderson High School, has a Fine Arts degree from the University of California at Chico and sees artistic design in everything. In an attempt to instill that observation into her students, they were encouraged to use mixed media, dynamic color or contrast and to print, draw or paint anything they found interesting or meaningful.
